Last time we had an intriguing discussion addressing the current state of how many foreign tourists have started to come again to Kyoto and how it implies to the daily life of Kyoto University's students.

Surprisingly, almost all of the members embrace more and more tourists coming to Kyoto but still be cautious about how it could also bring the pandemic back.

I am grateful to be allowed to lead this discussion club with you, and I assure you that we will have more and more exciting things to discuss!

I am so thrilled to reopen the English Discussion Club on Thursday!

The club will start again on October 20th! Here, we can have fun together by talking about all the exciting things around us!

Not only that, I assure you we will have some entertaining games and dialogues in the programme!

In the first meeting after the summer break, we will have a short introduction (again, LOL) and talk about small topics about our beloved city, Kyoto!

This week we'll see more and more foreigners crowding the historical capital of Japan as the border reopened (like our club, lmao), and I want to know your opinions about this! Do you like that Kyoto will be more vibrant and livelier? Or do you hate it?

Don't worry and please enjoy yourself when you come to the room, you can express any ideas you want!

We will explore the implications of ongoing climate change that already brings devastating impacts worldwide.

This year we have already observed the most atrocious heat wave affecting many countries in the northern hemisphere, calamitous storms, and several hydrological disasters.

We will try to understand the background of such catastrophic events, their implications, and how we can adapt and live with them.

At the beginning of the session, I will give some intros about the topic and discuss the current emerging issue as usual.

I hope we can have a lively discussion with many exciting exchanges of opinions and ideas between participants!

Today, we had an fascinating discussion addressing the problem of declining births in the developed nations and exploring the background and implications of such alarming phenomena.

Almost all of the members raised various concerns about having a child in this day and age, from the economic perspective, environmental preservation, and even the happiness of living alone and with the other.

I am grateful to be allowed to lead this discussion club with you, and I assure you that we will have more and more exciting things to discuss!

Surprisingly, almost all of the members have a big scepticism about how arts will take place in the future and how it will be circulated currently.

From here, we will discuss the various cutting-edge technology to present arts in many forms!.

Recent years show many artists embracing new types of art using the modern representation method, such as AI paintings, virtual concerts, VR experiences, and many more.

The improvement of technology also brings unique methods for selling and preserving arts that make the life of artists much better now than years ago.

At the beginning of the session, I will present the voting results of the continuation of this club, then give some intros about the topic and discuss the issue between us as usual.
