Notice(フランス語)
During our first French conversation session this semester, 6 students joined and shared a great moment together!
We started by introducing ourselves and sharing our experiences as French learners: everyone had a unique story and reason to learn the language.
Then, we talked about what motivates us to learn French:
✨ For work and study opportunities
🌍 For travel and cultural discovery
💬 For the joy of speaking another language
We also chatted about our winter activities: some enjoy cozy days cooking or eating hamburgers, while others love winter sports or family time.
It was a great chance to practice French, learn new words, and connect with others who share the same passion!
📅 Join us next time to keep improving your French in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere!
We can’t wait to see you there!
Today was our last session of the French conversational club. We had 7 participants.
We discussed each participant's future and our holiday plans. We also took advantage of the 14th of July celebrations in France to discuss the history of this national holiday and its similarities with Japan's main national holiday. Finally, we discussed French history in more detail, particularly the changes in territory over the course of wars and treaties.
To celebrate our last session and share one last convivial moment together, with Marie we bought cakes for all our attendees.
We wanted to thank you all for these 10 weeks of conversational club. We wish you all the best.
Enjoy your summer break!
The session took place and we shared lunch together, discussing food and we took advantage of this session to talk about the trips we're planning for the summer. Some of us are planning to go to France, prepared the DELF (french test) or write their PhD thesis.
We're all really looking forward to the vacations !
Lunch went by very quickly,
Next week will be the last session, so we're planning a surprise!
See you soon,
Today we were 8 peoples for the French conversational club.
One group have compared Japanese and French music, sharing for example the different version of Aux Champs Elysées and then have played shiritori.
The other group discuss about:
- TA role in Japan
- Difference of university fees and access for students (local and foreigners) depending on the country
- Habit of lecture in foreign language. Sharing our own experience, we exchange about L’étranger a book from French author Albert Camus that three of us had already read.
Next time, it will be from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM on Wednesday, July 9.
We look forward to your participation!
On Wednesday 25th, 5 people attended the French conversation class. Léa and I split the group in two: beginners on one side and advanced in the other side. With the more beginner students, Léa discussed travel and cultural differences. For my part, we played a Japanese game which consists of finding a word with the last syllable of the last word spoken with the participants. It was particularly interesting and fun to do it in French, as I was able to discuss the different meanings of the words, and the participants were able to learn new words in French.
Lunch went by very quickly.
We look forward to seeing you next week, on July 2, at noon!
Today we were 8 peoples for the French conversational club.

This week we just had one of us to conduct the club and no francophone plus we had the chance to sit in a round table. It enables us to go deeper in the group discussion while letting everyone talked and gave one’s opinion.
We discuss various topics like: transportations habits (train versus plane), immigration and tourism in France versus in Japan, manga and bande-dessinée, …

We look forward to your participation!
Today we were 10 people for the French conversational club.
We had the chance to welcome more francophone than ususally. They introduced themselves and then we naturally create duos of discussion which allow the learners to go deeper on their practices.
We speak about holidays and travelling, hobbies and studying abroad.
Each group of discussion explored different subjects depending on the flow of the talks.
Next time, it will be from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM on Wednesday, June 4.
We look forward to your participation!
The second French conversation club took place with 13 participants.
Léa and I organized the session in two parts. First, we helped Japanese students talk to new people they hadn’t met in the previous session.
In the second part, we all played a game called “telephone,” where you whisper a sentence to someone, and it gets repeated around the group. We had a lot of fun, and the students learned new words as the sentences changed.
Next time, it will be from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM on Tuesday, May 28.
We look forward to your participation!
