In addition to learning presentation skills and competencies, the workshops and seminars are intended to help participants make use of technological tools to create effective digital media (like slide-shows and videos) which could be both interesting and useful in the increasingly online future. |

Transportation (bus tour) and lodging will be provided by the ILAS. Students are to pay for all other expenses like entrance fees, foods and drinks etc. by themselves. |

Students will first have an opportunity to view and analyze a model presentation. Then, they will practice building fluency, and learn strategies for presenting spontaneously. This English seminar will offer a great opportunity to practice presentation skills in a relaxing and fun environment. |

ILAS Learn in English Summer Camp
'ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES related to the earth's atmosphere'
At Shigaraki MU Observatory (Sept. 3-4, 2019)
ILAS/ i-ARRC is offering you a Special Summer Seminar in English in Shigaraki.
Outlines:
Environmental issues related to the earth's atmosphere, such as global warming, are among major social concerns.
Under the special guidance of our most renowned radar specialist, Prof. Toru Sato, we visit Shigaraki MU Observatory,
which features one of the world's largest atmospheric radars, study technologies to observe and analyze various atmospheric phenomena,
and then work on several environmental problems in groups.
On the second day after the presentations and discussions, we will also visit “Soto-en”, one of the traditional Shigaraki potteries.
※Aimed at KU students and International students
※Working Language: English
※You don’t necessarily need to bring scientific backgrounds for this camp. The environmental issues would interest everyone, whatever the major is.

All applicants will receive emails with the result of the lottery.
Since some cancellations are to expect, we will contact you acc. to the waiting list when a vacant place becomes available.

send an email without fail (even on the morning of departure) to: iarrc-ka@mail2.adm.kyoto-u.ac.jp
In case of no shows without giving any prior notice, you may be refused to participate in ILAS events in the future. Since there may be many applicants on a waiting list, please let us know your cancellation as soon as possible when decided.
