2026 Spring Russian Conversation Club – Session 3: Anime, Japanese Culture & Our Final Meeting

2026年7月10日 13時28分 [KUSSAINOVA MAIRA]

For our final Russian Conversation Club session this semester, we had a lively discussion about anime and Japanese culture.
Many participants shared their favorite works by Hayao Miyazaki and talked about the memorable scenes and messages in his films. One participant pointed out an interesting historical connection between Japan and Germany, mentioning how Japanese engineers learned aircraft engineering from Germany, a theme reflected in one of Miyazaki's movies. We also discussed Japanese culture shown in anime, such as onsen, traditional customs, and other details that make these films so unique.
Later, we talked about the most unusual Japanese foods we have tried and shared our impressions of living in Japan and discovering its culture.
As this was my last Russian Conversation Club session this semester, we also talked about staying in touch and hopefully meeting again next semester.
Thank you to everyone who participated with such enthusiasm throughout the semester. It was a pleasure practicing Russian together and learning from each other.
Спасибо большое!
До новых встреч! 😊
